GoldSrc Saturdays (GSS) has selected Team Fortress Classic as its Week 252 game. The gaming community which has been raiding a different GoldSrc-engine game every Saturday since 2021 will return to TFC on October 17^th, following an Opposing Force deathmatch session this Saturday. The event kicks off at 19:00 UTC (21:00 CEST / 3PM EST) and will run for up to four hours on GSS TFC server at 91.191.213.98:27016. More than twenty players are expected to participate. This will be GSS’s third TFC session this year, with the first one coinciding with the TFC night of Classic Revival Week on February 28^th. If you have never joined this community of GoldSrc lovers, this is a great opportunity to meet fellow fans of the classics and journey back to the late 1990s together. TloFly from European TFC community and pick-up game (PuG) server compiled twenty minutes of Team Fortress Classic action from numerous top players, and named it The Wizards of TFC. It is a free masterclass in conc-jumping and flag running, topped off with an elite frag show. European players from ETFC PuGs make up the majority of the footage, with North and South American and Australian players featured as well. Last year, Manu’s Joga Bonito and rk’s 22^nd in the editless montage series, summer air, made their impact. This year, TloFly’s The Wizards is arguably the best release so far.

Another great movie of the year has come out of Team Fortress 2. deli’s montage showcases frags performed at poLANd.tf 2026, a top-level invite LAN in Łódź, Poland, organized annually since 2018. Just as Fireside Denver 2025 in Colorado hosted the best teams from Europe and Australia, and brought the three-continental LAN competition back to TF2 after eight years, poLANd 2026 brought an intercontinental competition back to Europe after four years, with an American mix team flying overseas to challenge the winners of Denver. The frags, as well as deli’s editing, match the quality of the competition.

Although they are not stacked montages, Enemy Territory Fortress recently produced some valuable media as well: recordings from the EU vs. US matches held on 27 July and 5 August. Thanks to the initiative of the European players who still queue up for the pick-up games every day on the Discord server, ETF is played again after several months. grome has recorded his POV from etf_schtop and etf_japanc maps played on 27 July, while Tulkas has full stream replays from both 27 July and 5 August. If you missed some ETF action, have fun watching them.

The last of its kind in the Team Fortress Classic scene, Final Fortress League is nine weeks into its Season 3. After its 6-team debut season primarily played in 5v5, and a second season with 4 teams successfully achieving 7v7s, its third run is again having 4 teams competing against each other in 5v5 or 7v7 settings, depending on the map and circumstances. According to the organizer KingOfPests the current player count could support a 6-team season again, if two more players stepped up to captain teams.

The flexible match format leaves room for adaptation and experimentation. For larger maps teams may jointly decide to play 7v7, or they may agree on 5v5 for small maps. Unlike the active pick-up game systems like ETFC‘s or NoNamePickups, FFL’s usual game mode is ADL (Attack/Defend League) rather than CTF (Capture The Flag). When CTF is played, however, FFL adds its own twist. Depending on the map and the player count, teams may decide to allow offense and defense simultaneously for both teams, instead of the common practise of taking turns in offense and defense for an equal amount of time.

For now it’s all North American teams including some South American players, however, there are plans for the next season to attract European participation by playing the matches at 16:00 EST. Rosters are not locked, and one of the teams, Second to none [220], is currently said to be open for recruiting.

Before the Finals to be held in Week 13 – 15, there are three more weeks left to be played. All matches are scheduled for 20:30 EST by default. One of the two matches in a week is always played on Pip’s Server [Aron’s Classic CTF], and the other one on Old School TFC (OST) which can be watched live in their respective HLTV servers. Aside from these, individual players also stream live on Twitch. The default match times and scheduling are subject to change, so anyone looking to catch some top TFC action should join the Discord server and ask around to stay up to date.
